The Thales Cinterion® PLS83-W IoT Module delivers global high speed IoT connectivity with 2G/3G fallback providing 18 Band LTE Cat.4, Seven Band 3G UMTS/WCDMA and Quad-Band GSM for seamless coverage while roaming across different wireless networks. When a global solution is not needed, a variety of regional variants with the latest network bands grouping deliver targeted connectivity for North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, Latin America and Japan.

Offering IoT optimized speeds of 10.2 Mbit/s download and 5.2Mbit/s uplink, the PLS83 IoT module is ideal for industrial IoT applications that require speed and optimal coverage such as global tracking and tracing, industrial gateways, point of sales, and transportation solutions. These applications require high speed data and the longevity and stability of LTE networks along plus continuous coverage in regions where a 4G connection is not present.

Delivering seamless compatibility with highly efficient Cinterion LTE Cat.1 IoT modules

The PLS83 is part of an agile suite of IoT modules that offer either LTE Cat.4 or LTE Cat.1 cellular connectivity, in both global and or regional variants. In other words, for each global and regional PLS83 variant, a compatible Cinterion PLS63 LTE Cat.1 module is available offering MTC connectivity for applications that require greater efficiency versus high speed and bandwidth.  The PLS83/63 IoT module suite offers 100% hardware and software compatibility. All Multi-Band LTE modules in the Cinterion® PLSx3 series offer seamless fallback based on regional network availability.

The Cinterion PLS83 module is backed by 25 years of industrial cellular module design delivering a featured-packed solution that includes a comprehensive AT command set and embedded features such as IP connectivity, VoLTE and GNSS. Our unrivalled expertise with eSIM technology supports the option to embed the eUICC, therefore easing logistics and manufacturing while optimizing total cost of ownership. Advanced security features include a Secure Boot and secure key storage.
